Improving Task Placement for Applications with 2D, 3D, and 4D Virtual Cartesian Topologies on 3D Torus Networks with Service Nodes

چکیده
We describe two new methods for mapping applications with multidimensional virtual Cartesian process topologies onto 3D torus networks with randomly distributed service nodes. The first method, “Adaptive Layout”, works for any number of processes and distributes the MILC (lattice QCD, 4D topology) workload to ensure communicating processes are close together on the torus. This scheme reduces the run time by 2.7X compared to default placement. The second method, “Topaware”, selects a prism of nodes slightly larger than the ideal prism one would select if there were no service nodes. The application’s processes are ordered to group neighboring processes on the same node and to place groups of neighbors onto nodes which are no more than a few hops apart. Up to 40% run time reductions are obtained for 2D and 3D virtual topologies. In dedicated mode, using Topaware with MILC reduces the run time by 3.7X compared to default placement. 3D Path Planning Algorithm for Mobile Anchor-Assisted Positioning in Wireless Sensor Networks
Positioning service is one of Wireless Sensor Networks’ (WSNs) fundamental services. The accurate position of the sensor nodes plays a vital role in many applications of WSNs. In this paper, a 3D positioning algorithm is being proposed, using mobile anchor node to assist sensor nodes in order to estimate their positions in a 3D geospatial environment. However, mobile anchor node’s 3D path optim...

متن کاملRouting in InfiniBand Torus Network Topologies
InfiniBand is an interconnect standard for communication between processing nodes and I/O devices as well as for interprocessor communication (NOWs). The InfiniBand Architecture (IBA) defines a switch-based network with point-to-point links whose topology can be established by the customer. When the performance is the primary concern regular topologies are preferred. Low-dimensional tori (2D an...
متن کاملStudy of Sexual Dimorphism in Second-to-fourth Digit Length Ratio (2D: 4D) in the Green-Bellied Lizard (Darevskia cholorogaster) from Iran
Sexual dimorphism in digit ration is related to genetic differences between species in response to prenatal exposure to hormones. In this study, the development of tetrapod digits, preliminary the ratio between the length of digit II and IV (2D: 4D) was investigated in 34 samples of Darevskia cholorogaster in the North of Iran. The results showed no significant differences between sexes in any ...
